Customer Care:

What is CLC?
  • CLC is called as Cellular Light Weight Concrete and it is also called as foam concrete. Cellular Light Weight Concrete (CLC) is a version of lightweight concrete that is produced like normal concrete under ambient conditions. It is produced by initially making slurry of cement, sand (optional), fly-ash & water, which is further mixed with the addition of pre-formed stable foam. The concrete is pumped into assembled moulds of blocks. The foam imparts free flowing characteristics to this slurry due to ball bearing effect of foam bubbles enabling it to easily flow into all corners and compact by itself in the moulds/forms without requiring any kind of vibration or compaction. Good curing gives strength and dimensional stability to bricks. Bricks are cured either by water curing or steam curing procedure.

What are the Raw Materials?
  • Raw materials for making CLC bricks / blocks would be cement, fly-ash / sand, foam, water & lime (If-Needed).

Is the Foaming Agent Available continuously and where should we get from?
  • Foaming agent is continuously available from Gayatri Shakti in whatever quantities required.

What about Density?
  • Densities range of CLC would be between 400–1800 kg/m3 which are used for various applications.

What about Curing?
  • Curing of the bricks / blocks can be done by either Water Curing for 2 to 3 weeks or by Steam Curing for 8 Hours.

Steam Curing Plant
  • These plants are generally suitable for higher production capacities and the advantages with this system will be faster curing, less labor, less production cost, mass / maximum production.

Water Curing Plant
  • These Plants are generally suitable for less production capacities and are best suitable for start-Up companies, brick / tiles manufacturers, small builders, entrepreneurs as the investment is very less.

What is the Plant Capacity & How much will be the Investment?
  • CLC brick / block manufacturing plants can be started with a minimum production of 10m3 to 500m3 per day and the investment range starts from Rs 5 Lakhs.

What is the Production Cost?
  • Production cost in India is generally between Rs. 1500 – 2200 per m3 and this depends upon the Prices of Raw materials

What is the Break-Even Period?
  • Break-Even / ROI can be achieved as less as 3-4 Months at 100% Efficiency.

Direct Advantages of CLC?
  • Direct cost savings using CLC Light Weight Blocks would be reduction of steel / iron for structural foundation, savings in plastering & mortar & labor cost.

In-Direct Advantages of CLC?
  • In-Direct advantages of CLC are in the form of thermal insulation, sound reduction, less water absorption, etc

Future of CLC:
  • Government is making all efforts to ban / stop clay bricks manufacturing & usage as it consumes top agricultural soil and also the availability of soil is a problem. In a due course of time, an appropriate action will be taken
  • Fal-G (Fly-Ash) bricks are much heavy in weight and require heavy structural foundation and because of the heavy weight, labor problems are existent. Because of the heavy competition, Fly Ash Bricks are available at rock bottom price and it would be difficult for them to reduce price any more
  • AAC blocks plant investment is very high and has to be imported either from Germany or China and this technology has a problem with water absorption
